I established a Trust to donate the Lord Mayor's fees to help the City's most disadvantaged people and promote animal welfare.
I established the Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP Salary Trust after I was elected as Lord Mayor of the City of Sydney. I receive a salary as a NSW Member of Parliament, and donate 100% of the Lord Mayor’s fees for charitable purposes through this Trust. Deputy Lord Mayor Clr Marcelle Hoff also donates her Deputy's allowance.
The Trust aims to encourage innovation by funding projects that may not otherwise occur. The Trust will only fund organisations that operate wholly or partially within the City of Sydney Local Government Area.
The Trust funds projects that enable people who are mentally ill, drug and alcohol dependent or socially disadvantaged to rebuild their lives; assist homeless people or young people at risk; promote animal welfare; or promote community environmental and sustainability initiatives. It focuses on innovative projects that make a practical difference with real outcomes.
